THE IDEA OF WRITING ON WORLD CINEMA WAS FASCINATING AND HAD BEEN THERE FOR A LONG TIME. I AM A MOVIE-BUG MYSELF AND CAN BOAST OF HAVING SEEN CINEMA OF MOST OF THE COUNTRIES EITHER IN THE FILM-FESTIVALS OR FILM SOCIETIES OR FILM CLUBS ....I WANTED TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE WITH OTHERS WHO MAY LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT THE WORLD CINEMA....INTEND TO TAKE UP WORLD CINEMA BY COUNTRIES -GIVING THE BRIEF INTRO- OF THE HISTORY OF CINEMA -SELECTED MOVIES-THE FAMOUS DIRECTORS AND ACTORS -AND AWARD WINNING MOVIES- .....IT IS A HUGE TASK AND i AM AWARE OF MY LIMITATIONS- BUT I WILL TRY TO DO A FAIRLY DECENT JOB AND THEN PRAY THAT YOU ENJOY THAT.
The term WORLD CINEMA is often used interchangeably with the term foreign film. However, both world cinema and foreign film could be taken to refer to the films of all countries other than one's own, regardless of native language.
